Sunnyvale is not a hotel, but a homestay - so set your expectations accordingly. Mr Nasir - the host - is a friendly and helpful person. Before our visit, we reached out to him to clarify our Andaman travel queries (which were not answered on the Internet) and he clarified them patiently. Rooms - Sunnyvale is a multistorey bungalow with a few individual rooms located on the second floor. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. All the basic needs like water, geyser, AC and most importantly WiFi - are taken care of. They even have a common kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, induction and water purifier. So people with kids would find these facilities beneficial as compared to other commercial hotels. Location - The property is 10-15 mins walk from Aberdeen bazaar where you would find good restaurants and shops. There are a couple of restaurants that deliver food to the property as well. Overall, I would recommend Sunnyvale homestay as it covers your basics very well and in budget.

Told that check-out is at 09h00, and when complained and requested a more reasonable check-out at 11h00, the host was very rude, argumentative and non-accommodative. No toilet paper in the bathroom. No hot water.

This homestay is close to a market and a walking distance to some good restaurants too. Our room was very clean, spacious and quiet, we slept very well there. The breakfast is included in the price of the room. The owner speaks perfectly English, is very friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to give information about activities or trips to do around. He helped us to book another homestay when we wanted to stay longer in Port Blair and his homestay was full and even took the time to drove with us there. The helper Hassan is discreet, efficient and very polite. We recommend this place to everyone who want to have a good stay in Port Blair.

Rooms were ok, but manager was unfriendly and there was no washing machine!

The room was ok, neat and spacious. Hot water was available, and sheets were clean. But I was very upset with the manager being so curt and unfriendly. Sunnyvale is advertised as a homestay but there was no washing machine available for us. The owner charged us more than Rs 250 to wash just 10 pieces of clothing. A place that claims to be a homestay should have at least a washing machine for guests' use. I have traveled to many countries and I mostly stay in homestays. Every single one of them I have been to had a washing machine. The proprietor charges so much for room rent but does not even provide a facility for doing laundry. In a hot humid place like Andaman, you simply have to wash clothes regularly. Very disappointing experience. Also the wifi wasn't working for the entire 3 days we stayed there. The only good thing about the place was big rooms. Otherwise disappointing stay. No washing machine, rude owner, no wifi.

It is situated in prime location and convenient to travel to all points around the city. A decent value for money kind of place with neat and clean basic facilities. We travelled this October, a small family of 3 and found our 2 days stay quite satisfactory. Nasir Husain is a friendly owner and very helpful in organizing the entire trip, from taxi arrangements to ferry tickets and local sight seeings. Overall, a pleasant stay and definitely recommend the place.
